Medsugar in partnership with NGOs, SHPIs and MFIs identify active women at the grassroots. The identified women are trained over a period of two days about non-communicable diseases mainly diabetes, blood pressure, cholesterol and breast cancer. The training focus on the risk populations, symptoms and impact of those non-communicable diseases. The training will be conducted by qualified physicians, lab technicians and social workers. Upon completion of the training, the qualified women will be certified as "Diabetes Educators" and eventually they emerge as a successful rural health entrepreneurs capable of earning up to Rs.10,000 per month by offering medical services.
